Yeah, imagine that. Because federal employees get furloughed, if in fact they do; make sure nobody has access to anything involved with the FED govt. As if somehow allowing the PUBLIC to access PUBLIC land will be a problem just because some guy in a green Wagoneer that you would never otherwise see isnt there for you to not see. Makes sense right? This along with all the other little things like barricading the various memorial sites are designed for one thing only, pissing off the people and using it as a vehicle to blame one political party, the Republicans. No more, no less. Pure politics. Perhaps some good will come of this. Maybe, just maybe if enough people are impacted by the so-called 'Republican' shutdown, some may come to realize just how far reaching the feds control has reached into our lives. The more govt does for you, the more it can to you. Some will never get it and never will. Democrat voters.

Hmmm, I can't open the OP's link on this computer, but I just got home from patrolling Deer Season in the National Forest and although I didn't see any of the USFS LEO's, Hunters were out and about. I heard the BLM closed the gate to the local recreation area just out of town, but I haven't confirmed it myself yet. I told a few people the land belongs to them (as long as they pay taxes), so the gate should not be closed for political games and I wouldn't have a problem if they ripped the gate right out out of the ground to access the area (usually the gates are only closed after heavy rain to keep the erosion down and I can understand that).
Could be Federal Refuges are closed, but the National Forests are open as of this afternoon.
Again... Federal Lands are YOUR lands.

I just spent a few days in Moab, UT when they closed Arches and Canyon Lands national parks. There were a lot of unhappy folks trying to find something to do. Luckily, all of the BLM land was open to 4 wheelers, hikers, bikers, etc. if I had wanted to go to Arches I guarantee I would have found a way in.

Not just lands, ... rivers too. I have been told that no one is being allowed on the Buffalo River here in Arkansas. It has been declared a "National River" so, the entire 150 miles of river is off-limits even to the people that live along it. How ridiculous can you get?

BULL CRAP!! The BLM, NPS, FED whatever does NOT own the land!!... WE DO! They work for US! If they can't do the job then they should be FIRED! There's a reason these agencies are considered non-essential. This makes me want to go kill something on federal land just because. Most of Alaska is Federal land, 60%. Many up here rely on subsistence living on federal lands. Tell me what bureaucrat has the right to keep us off the land.
ok, rant over. I'm steamed...

Im going for a drive this afternoon in NW Wyoming, as soon as the sun comes out and the hard roads melt off. Maybe I can find a wolf east of Hwy 120 where they are classified as predator just like coyotes. And I will end up on blm land, which we own and pay idiots to administer to and mismanage to best of their abilities.......................... Come on over, COR, we can make a difference one shot at a time

It looks like BLM land is "open".... that's nice of them.....
COR, they say LEO's will still be working. This whole thing is ridiculous. Commercial operators are being shutdown in places in Alaska because some Fed doesn't have his desk job today.

Anyone who votes to keep ANY politician in office beyond one term deserves every bad thing that comes their way.

Civil disobedience is called for. The WW11 vets pushed their way into the WW11 memorial area .I think we CAN and SHOULD do the same in regards to the hunting areas. Go around the gates.

This administration is spending more money keeping people out of public land, memorials, parts of the ocean in FL, etc., than they normally spend when the gov't is actually running.
BO sits in the "Spite House," trying to blame the GOP for his ridiculous actions. Someone needs to slap this playground bully upside the head and send him packing.
