Fall has fallen. Forget the calender or the weatherman. Weird steve has burned the first leaves of the season. When I quit wearing shorts, ya know its winter. The ashes go into my garden, the peppers especially like it. stevemb

Cold Cork Springs Orchard is around the block from us. Last year a total bust. They bought apples from NY so as to not turn away customers. This year, the trees are breaking with the load of apples ! Just got fresh road killed apples, better known as cider. They press on the grounds and sell only on site, so no presrvs or pasty stuff going on. REAL cider. Pregnant wimmin and ankle biters need not apply. and such. stevemb

I sure miss real apple cider. All I can get round these parts is that crappy apple juice they call cider. We used to 'hid' a jug in the creek to keep it fairly cool. Within a few days it was ready....and I do mean ready. We'd put a pin hole in the lid so's it wouldn't blow up.
