Revolver and /or pistol boxes what do you do with them? If you buy a Ruger to have converted and it came with the box what do you do? Trash it? Give it away? Sell it? I usually do not keep hand guns in a box in my safe, and some boxes I just dont want to keep.they are becoming a tripping hazard. Ronnie

I keep all original gun boxes. Nothing enhances the sale of a gun like original box and papers.

True. But if you bought a Blackhawk 357 to be converted,or a single six to be converted,do you keep the box? What if the box is not original to the revolver. I know that I usually trash rifle boxes. Ronnie

Well I have at least one Ruger return brown box in the shop. Sometimes its just nice to have an extra around to ship a gun in or display it in. Easy enough to say "not original box". I havent kept every box I ever had but for the last 30 or so years, yeah I keep them, all of them. But I do tend to "rotate stock" fairly frequently.

I'm curious too... I just toss all mine up in the attic, I'm sure they get dirty & dingy, but when you're a prolific collector, things stack up pretty high over time

I just keep them. I found a place to stack 'em and that is what I do.

Many boxes can be worth some good money. I keep all of mine, AND I buy other boxes for guns I get.

I stack mine on top of the safe, that way, they're out of the way.

I try to keep all that stuff. Some are 35 years old and show it. They have been moved a couple of times and stored badly. Too much moisture, mice have gnawed on some, falling apart, etc.
Kind of brings up another question. If you keep them, what is the best way to store them? I don't have room in the gun safe for things like this.

I figure if I keep the box, it means I may plan on selling it when I buy it. So I keep most of the boxes, knowing that it may be on the block at some time. They sit mostly above the safe in the garage.
