Somebody here will thank me for this, somewhere down the road. Westline Inn. Google away. Ya can't miss, it's the only thing there now. Back in the 1800's, the logging industry swept threw the 'Ghaney's(spellings vary). This place, a families home and business's offices remains. They made use of the chemical byproducts of the logging industry. Aspirin and such came from their offerings. They put in a narrow gauge railway that is now the road bed. It follows a pretty little trout stream(run). A trio now own it and one of them is a French trained Chef. The menu/food, is AMAZING. The decor is hunting camp stuff. Lots of old game and fish mounts. Art work is country scenery,etc.. They have 9 rooms to let upstairs. Modest, very modest, the rooms. You go there for the scenery, food, etc.. The rooms are not the draw. Snowmobile trails, hiking, fishing, etc., all there. We've been there 4-5 times now. Our getaway, when we want over the top food and nicer than our hunting camp, digs. Tell'em steve sent ya. I'll be there Sat eve.. stevemb

Life is short, my God did me good. That's another story. Any other S.A. can stop in, I'll stand good for a beer. stevemb

Congrats, Steve! Just celebrated 30 yrs earlier this year. Sounds like we've both been blessed.
That Inn looks pretty cool. Never been to that part of the country. I'll have to put in on our bucket list.

Scenery was great, leave color and all. Me'n the dog had a bit of a rodeo with a very healthy black bear. We got to the bridge over the trout stream at the same time she did. A car came down the hill and back lit her and I thought for a moment she might run us over. But she managed to squeeze under the guardrail and slide/tumble down into the creek. Fun was had by all. Note self, ALWAYS wear the headlamp. One dog on leash, one flashlight, one Bulldog, only two hands. Mahi-mahi was great. Ever had one of them giant soft pretzels with creamed crab meat spread on it, with a creamy garlic and red pepper dip ? WOW ! Suitable amounts of local wines and/or Yuengling were ingested too. stevemb

We visited Allegheny Cellars, Flickerwood, and Wilcox wineries while there. Wilcox our favorite due to the Clarion River Red and Clarion River Rapids wines. The Rapids being a sparkling version of the River Red. Camp in Lake City on the other side of the Clarion River is about 45minutes south. Staying at Westline, all three wineries are within 45 minutes. Hey Magman, my families camp is on Bullhill, Sheffield, had family in Bradford. You gotta live within all this somewhere ? stevemb
