A buddy just pointed out he thought the white form is a state thing, so now I'm even more confused. I don't know what reality is. Kings6?

In Oregon the background checks are performed by the State Police but they may access info from a national data base that may be shut down.

It's a little bothersome that all of the Federal websites are down. I was wondering if they shut the power off (the answer is no, you wouldn't get the screen telling you that the site was closed because of a lack of funding). I take this as meanness, more or less. Similar to the 'sequester' situation where the President made it clear that funding would be cut first to the most used and useful public facilities (like the national parks). This is directed to annoy the maximum number of citizens.
It makes me wonder about our elected official who on one hand talk about a democratic process and then declare there will be no negotiations...

Here in Mississippi if you have your concealed carry permit, fill out the form and they do not have to call it in. Ronnie

Is this some system outage or some kind of regulation change?

The servers are obviously online otherwise you'd get nothing. The alternative would be a fully functioning website that lacks update for the duration.

We have a Gov't ? OK, really, with the bunch we got, the longer they are down, the less damage they can do. With where I live, I can't tell the difference. YMMV. LOL. stevemb
