Does anyone have a 35/30-30? I'm going to have a 30-30 rebored to 35/30-30 and was looking for load data. I have a set of dies on the way. Thanks.

Sorry, but TBH I've never heard of that cartridge until just now. I'm guessing it's necked-up to .35.

Yes. I have a marlin with a rough bore and Im going to have it rebored. Was think about a 38-55 but 30-30 brass is much more plentiful and I have molds to cast 35 Cals.

My Ed Harris article says that he uses starting 35 Remington loads with cast, making sure he keeps his top end loads a couple of grains below 35 Rem max loads. He seems to favor faster powders, and the article shows 16 gr of 2400 with a 200 gr RCBS bullet at 1430 fps. Also shown is 29.6 gr of RX7 with the RCBS 200 gr for about 1900 fps, which sort of matches the data above. Outside of this, he talks about Bullseye for plinking loads. There does appear to be a lot of information on the internet regarding this caliber.

Thanks for all the responses. I did find some load data on the Internet. lot of guys said use 35 rem data but some say drop it a few grains. Most of the info I found was on castboollits and leveractions site. I'm going to call Hodgdon on Tuesday at talk with them. Thanks Subsonic I will save that data. I think that is what is on loaddata.com but you had to pay to get the powder charges.

In my mind, 4198 or AA1680 powders would be where I would start with powders. 1680 is great in all of the longer straight walled cartridges, and is absolutely awesome in the .375 Win. This cartridge is very similar to the .375 Win...

One thing I found on the internet said the 35 Remington had about 14% more case volume. If I was going to build one, I think since you probably have to get custom dies made, I would go for a 35/30-30 Ackley Improved. It should have about same case volume as a 35 Remington, maybe just a little bit more since the shoulder is also moved forward. With very little side wall taper you can probably load it to higher pressure without stressing the action as much.

If you are doing a rebore my vote goes to the grand old 38-55. Still use your thuty thuty brass too.
