I have a 441 just like that...when I got it years and years ago, it had one of the lousiest DA trigger pulls I've ever felt on a gun, so I just threw it in the safe along with my "real" S&W and Ruger .44 Specials. One month when I had a little extra money I sent the beast to Jim Stroh for a trigger job and to have him round the butt a bit. Jim confirmed my opinion of the trigger! When the gun came home I decided to shoot it against my Jim Stroh-tuned S&W Model 21 and my Hamilton Bowen .44 Special "Mountain Gun," 2 of the best DA .44 Specials I own. Amazingly, it outshot them both (granted, what we're talking about here is informally shooting groups offhand with cowboy ammo and SilverTips). Heck of a little gun! Michael B Very cool. I've been pretty impressed with it so far - just informal plinking and it's pretty good minute of pop can. Been too cold on my days off to get a good range report, but will do at some point. I would rate this one's trigger as decent, but I'm pretty spoiled with a couple of S&W custom shop triggers on some of my other toys. Did Jim Stroh do a complete round butt conversion with grips? I would think that would make this thing a lot more carry friendly. I've heard good things about Jim's work. Regards, Brian

You "stole" it for 300.
I have a blued one with fixed sights and a 2" ported barrel that doesn't shoot to the sights. I'm thinking about milling a slot in the topstrap and installing a "K" frame adjustable S&W rear sight with maybe a Ruger single-six front sight. I'm sure open to other peoples ideas on this one.

Good gun at a good price. It is small enough to be there when needed, and chambered for a round that will get it done when called upon. Taurus makes a sound serviceable revolver.

Excellent! I am quite jealous. I have been wanting one of those for a while. Congrats!
