Got a good deal on a converted OM Blackhawk in 357 with 4 5/8" barrel a while back but just ended up receiving some Eagle gunfighter grips for it today but when I went to remove grip screw , the nut is turning as well. Tried a .050" Allen wrench held tightly against nut but screw is to tight. Any ideas? Thanks

Well, it sounds as if the screw was overtightened, and stripped the wood around the ferrule. Not an easy removal where you do not damage at least one panel.

Super Glue between nut and wood, carefully applied with a pin so as not toget any on the threads? Maybe put a drop of melted wax on the tip of the screw to keep the glue out of the threads?

Try soaking the threads in PB blaster. Then maybe spin the screw fast in reverse with a drill while prying the ferrule side grip panel away from the frame with a sharpened paint scraper to add friction on the ferrule?!?

I'd consider drilling out the center of the nut while holding the slotted head with a screwdriver. You will lose the screw and nut but you might save the grips.

Well the Super glue did the trick along with a small allen wrench tightly to the ferrule. Managed to not damage the grips panels. Will get some pics with new grips in Gallery soon.
Thanks to everyone.
