Unless one has a definite ding or spot where crown is definitely damaged seen with the naked eye. The crown is the last thing to worry about in a sixgun. Now in a LR precision rifle that's another story.

Ruger Single Six (Ten) revolvers ten to have oversized throats. Try to find ammo where the bullet fits snug into the cylinder throats from the FRONT side of the cylinder. If you manage this, accuracy will improve. The best (largest) I found was CCI Blaser. It shot very well in my gun - better than all but WOLF Match Target, and 1/3rd the price.

I think the bore is oversize. I took a live round and stuck it in the muzzle, and it went almost all the way to the brass. I need a new barrel
