It has been decades since I had hunted squirrels. As a rule, early archery season for deer tends to get in the way for a lack of a better term.

Went out this morning. Nice day, but wind started blowing as the sun started to rise. Only one with a pistol.

Ruger Mark II 5 1/2" bull barrel. Really likes the CCI-mini mags. I heard several but to many leaves on to see them. Good to get in the woods. Dam allergies suck.

I'd normally use a 10/22 and or a 9 1/2 single six ,With 22 so hard and expensive. I'll switch to a .32 H&R mag 9 1/2 Single six and a .32 H&R mag Marlin . Cast my own slugs ..

Mohillbilly, that's exactly what I would like to do.Unfortunately cannot use center fire handguns for small game anymore here in Ga. I have a really nice .32 long load for my 32 mags and 327 mags. I understand the need to save 22 rimfire ammo. Just wish I could use the centerfires to save the .22 ammo. Plus I need to hunt down a Marlin in .32mag. or 32-20. Just a excuse to by another gun, but I should not have to explain that on this forum.

...I use my MKII Government model with CCI mini mags...... ... use my Ruger MKII Competition Target slabside (with CCI SGB)...... These have been my usual handgun hunting tools since my eyesight has gotten bad enough I can't see the sights in heavy woods/near darkness because they have optics. As much as I love my single sixes, they are relegateed to 'enuf light' shooting only.
