chambered the same ?
I have a custom 22 Hornet revolver that I added a 1 in 9 twist barrel, & was pretty happy with the results of my mini whisper, so I did the same to a new Ruger 77-22 Hornet... both have standard chambers, ( though I under stand some of you guys are getting good putting sharp bottlenecks in the revolver... similar to a K Hornet ? )
anyway, I'm now working on a load that will shoot MOA or better, in the rifle, & still shoot reasonably accurately in the revolver...
I went outside the box a little in some of the powders ( trying Accurate #9 for example ) but am back to looking in my Contender reloading book, & trying to find a happy medium between Contender & Rifle loads... I'm currently working with 3 powders, & 55 grain bullets, & both magnum pistol, & small rifle primers, looking for best results... ( Lil Gun, IMR 4227, 4198 )
originally ( since the revolver came 1st ) I worked on loads I thought would work better in the revolver, but since the rifle is done, my best groups on those loads are around 2.5" at 100 yards, in the rifle... so, now I'd like to tighten those up, & then see which of the good rifle loads work best in the revolver...
curious if any of you have played with anything similar, or have any suggestions... ( of course I do have 357 mag, & 45 Colt pairs, but those are mainly for CAS, so minute of steel plate at 50 yards is plenty good results in those rifles ) with the "fast twist" 22 Hornet I'm looking for more...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't H110 supposed to be great in the Hornet?
Or are you shooting heavies in the 1:9 twist? 55gr still isn't that heavy.
AA1680 is a hair slower and a real sleeper of a powder.
Why not just use small pistol primers?

when I started with the revolver, I was pretty hard on primers using regular pistol primers, so I switched to magnum pistol, & didn't have any issues any more... with the regular small rifles I'm hoping to have a little better cup, & maybe more consistent ignition I was getting good results with the revolver with 68 grain bullets, however I don't have many of those though, & as tough as components are to get right now, I have at least 1000 of the 55 grain Sierra Spire point boat tails, & probably as many of the 55 grain hollow point boat tails... I guess I figured at the velocities of the Hornet, the hollow point would be better served in the 223 or 22-250, & since I'm just punching paper... so yes, the 55's aren't too heavy, but still heavier than I can stabilize in my CZ or 10" regular twist Contender barrel, especially so, in the longer boat tail form... I do have some 1680... thanks for the suggestion... I guess right now, I'm looking for an MOA or less group out of the rifle, & 4" - 6" or so at 50 yards from the 6" revolver with iron sights... if I can find a load that works, I'm always striving to improve, but cutting down the variables some, seems like the only way to stay sane while doing this ( part of the reasoning behind sticking with just the 55 grain boat tail ) 3 powders 5 charge levels each, 2 primers, is 30 loads to test...hopefully I can find something both guns like... if not, more options... now that the rifle is sighted in, I'll only load 5 of each... when I was starting with the revolver ( the cylinder holds 8 rounds ) I loaded 8 of each... since the revolver seems more forgiving ( or less critical, with not having a scope mounted on it ) the rifle seems the best place to start BTW... these are my thoughts... was curious as to what process worked for any of you guys that were trying to get better than average accuracy out of 2 guns
