NYS Compliant Ar-15

My LGS has a text network setup to alert the regulars as to when ammo,reloading components, and just sale items in general, come in to the shop. I got a text this morning that they had NY compliant ar's in stock so after I finished out work today I went down to see one of these contraptions in the flesh. They sure are butt ugly. Kind of remind me of a paint ball gun type arrangement. They seem to shoulder well enough and I guess you can add a raised cheek piece to the recoil spring and plunger tube cover to make using open sites a bit easier. This is what we have to do to conform to the ridiculousness concocted by politicians that have never even held a gun let alone shot one. I guess it's a good thing my AR went over board in that terrible boating accident several years ago.

Those must be safer because crooks would be too embarrassed to be seen with them.

Ok. Maybe I am somewhat out there but they look kind of neat. Very sci fi looking. It appears to be something you'ld see on the new series Defiance.

You can laugh but I'd buy one. It would be a neat coyote gun.

yes on the M&P.

How could any one with half a brain look at one of those and a regular AR and conclude that one is "safer" than the other. Makes any one with any common sense realize that the new law is not about public safety it's about control.

I saw my first NY compliant AR today and stock sets today. It does make the gun a little more compact with the pistol grip not sticking down. As far as looks lets face it no AR is pretty to look at!!!! Not like a fine English double rifle.

FYI Thordsen custom NY compliant stocks came in today to the LGS. $199.99 I just don't know if I can dress my H-bar up in one of those.
