There is no finer moment then when I see a bear in the yard at my place in Idaho. A moose is close but a bear, well it's a bear. I have no idea how big the bear is by proper measurements. I recall a shade over 6' nose to tail.

I'm here in mid-Missouri and we get a black bear from time to time. I think their population is growing. A couple of years back a black bear was spotted just about a 1/4 mile north of out property line. Last summer I found scat that I suspected was bear. I had the conservation department examine it and all they could say was that it was an omnivore. I have had a trail cam out but so far, no bear. I have found other things that look like bear habits like turning over rocks in a stream and dead trees ripped up. About a week ago my wife and I heard something make a bawl three times like Chubaca from Starwars. It wasn't that far away.
