I have a Marlin 41 cowboy version and thought about somehow making a 414 Supermag custom lever gun but I just could not justify the cost. I think I know where that one came from

Ironically I talked to Ben Forkin yesterday and my 41 is headed out to him to get the through bolt added in the butt stock, the forearm slimmed down, the action smoothed up and then it will be off to Turnbull for some color. Another one to hurry up and wait on!

Does the .41 gain as much velocity in a lever gun as the .357?
I'm a .41 fan & my "Accusport" BH needs a partner. Been watching for .41 1894s for a bit, but something always gets in the way.

Is the twist in a 41 pretty standard? I guess what I am asking is the twist the same in the black hawk and the marlin? Are the marlins micro grooved or Ballard or both? I can make cast work in either but Ballard is so much more user friendly. Jeff

Yes and no......most everyone uses the standard twist rate except for Freedom Arms, they use a little faster rate to help stabilize heavy bullets. As for the Marlins, they use Micro grove for all rifles in the 41 Mag except the limited edition Cowboy model, it uses the Ballard rifling.
