I took several rifles out back tonight. It was a beautiful evening. Karli came down too and we both enjoyed shooting until the sun finally set. Here is a group shot. 1) Springfield Armory M1A - wanted to try out some new Check Mate mags to ensure function. The mags worked great. What a fun rifle! Karli likes this rifle...but off a rest. Great sun for photos. 2) HAD to turn my Winchester M94AE Trapper into a shooter. It's been a NIB gun for too long. Boy I am glad I did. It fed and functioned perfectly. It's a keeper. Karli and I both enjoy pistol caliber carbines. In this case, .45 Colt 3) Took the Winchester M52 Sporter out to try out some new ammo. It favors SK - SubSonic over the more expensive Eley - Match. It shot very well. It's all dialed in for squirrel hunting. I was very pleased with this group. The rifle sports like-vintage 4-power "Texan" scope. 50 yards - 5 shots 4) Anschutz M64 Multi-Purpose. I've had this gun for over 12 years. It's scary accurate with most decent ammo...but tonight Karli & I ran some Eley - Match down the barrel and we feel like it's the best ammo we have fed this rifle. More of this ammo is going to be ordered. Karli & I both did well with this rifle tonight. My 5-shot group at 50 yds with the Eley Match Karli loves this rifle's accuracy All smiles She did very well...the non-grouped shots were mine from an earlier group

I'd like to think I helped you dirty up that Trapper. They're more fun to shoot than look at. Those are some nice rifles you have here.

Thanks gents. I sure enjoy having time to shoot. Seems I don't make time like I used too. We enjoy time outside regardless of the event.
zac, Yes, the .45 Colt thread you recently posted was all it took. It had to be done or I needed to sell the carbine. It feeds and functions as nice as my Browning M-92s...I wish my Marlins did so well in that area. My Marlins are stock and I have to take it easy chambering a round in them or they jam...then next time if I do not really JACK in a round fast, they will jam....both the ..357 and .44! Go figure. Luck of the draw I guess.
BTW. ...I'm glad you posted that one. I needed to shoot this gun!

Nice... glad you could both get out... raining all the time here ( finally got my range mowed the other day ) now I'm so far behind, that if I get a couple sunny days, I'd have a hard time allowing myself the time to shoot...
2.5" on rain between Saturday & Sunday this weekend... next issue... gonna be a record year for Mosquitos... if I get a calm enough day to do some serious shooting, I'm afraid I'll have to dope up heavily to have enough blood left to finish my shooting... with those conditions, I don't expect I'll be able to talk MRS out to the range

MagWheels... I feel your pain....I'm trying to get Prairie Grass planted on 26 acres...it finally quit raining a couple nites ago with a final 1.25" If it will continue to dry, I'll have three days of work ahead of me. Then if it doesn't drought on us again like last year!... Be careful if you use Deet...it's heck on gun finishes!!
Steve, Thank you on both counts!

Vonfatman.... beautiful Winchester Model 52 Sporter. As a kid in high school, shooting a gallery match in Winchester's basement range in New Haven, I bought a used M52 target rifle for $75, a huge amount of money. Reckon I shot it every penny's worth.
Fine pictures of a fine day, David Bradshaw

Carl, Thank you...keepers on all counts.
Bradshaw, Great story. It's a rife that would have some stories of its own if only it could talk. I'm really pleased I was able to keep this scope and rifle together. The old 'Texan' sure surprised me. I think the gun and scope look right. Bob

groo, I did...used Wolf "Match Target"...I've enjoyed using it for several years now but for some reason, the Subsonic was preferred by the M64.
I think the Wolf is manuf. by SK!?
