I had been wanting one of these for a while. Something to plink and maybe hunt with, but it had to be 45 Colt to get along with my other revolvers. I know I paid too much by my standards but I'm happy in the end so I don't care. A Marlin 1894 CBC in 45 Colt. Case coloring on the receiver, Marbles Buckhorn rear sight, not D&T just "Marlin Safety" on the top of the receiver, and a decent factory action job thrown in. I ran about 150 rounds through it the other day and was very happy with the results. No bulging brass and fed WFN, SWC, and RFN designs equally well. No accuracy testing, I just wanted to shoot and have fun so that's what we did. My dad liked the Marbles buckhorn sight better than the peep sights on my Winchester. He didn't get the blur as badly. Shooting four different loads (velocities are estimated pistol velocities) 200gr at 950, 255gr at 1000, 315gr at 1000, and 300gr at 1200 all went well. The cowboy loads were like a big bore 22, lots of fun. The 255 Keith was equally fun and shot well to POA. The others were fun but after a day of rifle shooting started to take it's toll on my bruising shoulder.

Damn beautiful gun. I'm jealous of the fact that you went to the range with eight boxes of shells and let it eat...

gorgeous rifle... my 45 colt rifle is a brass & stainless Rossi with some work done to it... as much as I like it, it doesn't hold a candle in the looks department to your case coloring... very nice

Now that's my kind of rifle. 45 Colt is my favorite cartridge. I have been wanting a rifle to compliment my Ruger Bisley for sometime now. Something like that would fit the bill perfectly.

Wow, that's a dandy. My Trapper is still NIB....I gotta break down and take it to the range. It's from the 80's with one of those weird "rebounding hammers". I have always wanted a .gun in .45 Colt, but have not sent any down the barrel (yet)....
Your post is making me weak.
