I know its not what you asked but, I have seen S&W jframe rear sights installed in the vaqueros, by Jack Huntington, pretty slick set up, and gives you the option of adjustable sights, but still maintaining the look. I am sure somebody will post a photo up.. This trick is done by pretty much all of the top smiths, a very nice option for some guns. Bowen has a fixed J-frame rear sight that can be fixed to a Vaquero so it is still as tough as a fixed sight but gives a target rear sight sight picture as well, often done with a white rear outline and a white center striped from blade. A very nice touch I must say... Thanks for the clarification, and great looking Vaquero, BTW

Boge has a gorgeous front/rear sight set-up on his Dustin Linebaugh 4" 500L Vaquero. I drool over it every time he posts it. I also like the way Hamilton Bowen dovetails a front sight. You can look over his work on his website. I can't see the little front sights on the Vaquero so I had Alan Harton put a Patridge front soght and S&W j-frame rear sight on my Montado, a little like Fowler talked about in his last post.

I didn't mean to imply anything like that, it's just a remarkably clean, sweet lookin' shooter. Is that a 5-shot cylinder?
I've seen Alan's 32 HRM and 327 Federal Bearcats. Yours is very cool with the stag grips and the Barranti leather.

Standard cylinder just "cleaned up" I love the little 32 bearcats from Alan, they are too cool! He built the front sight base from scratch obviously and can shape them any way someone wants.
