I have the data sheet jack Hutchinson provides (the 500 Wyoming equivalent chart). But am looking for a 950 to 1k fps load for a 350 gr fmj bullet. Real gap there. Light loads max at 830ish. Next up loads seem to be pushing 1300 or so. In my mind, 11 grains of trail boss should be perfect if capacity exists. Thoughts?

Huntington.....
I have not seen any data near there.
You are probably OK using Trailboss. Look at .475 Linebaugh data and use that when in doubt. Case capacity and bullet weight should be similar when comparing data. Error low.

Anyone have a load for a 400g cast (412gr as cast) for around 1200 fps?

Here's some data I got from Accurate Arms. I specifically asked them about the 500 JRH/WE with 400-440 grain cast bullets and AA #9 powder.
Caliber: 500 Wyoming Express. Barrel length: 8” Powder: Accurate – 5744® Bullet weight: 350 grains. Reduced load: 23.0 grains (ca 1050 Fps) Mid range load: 27.0 grains (ca 1250 Fps) Maximum load: 30.0 grains (ca 1350 Fps). Bullet weight: 400 grains. Reduced load: 20.0 grains (ca 900 Fps) Mid range load: 23.0 grains (ca 1075 Fps) Maximum load: 26.0 grains (ca 1250 Fps). Powder: Accurate – No 9® Bullet weight: 350 grains. Start load: 23.0 grains (ca 1200 Fps) Maximum load: 26.0 grains (ca 1400 Fps) Bullet weight: 400 grains. Start load: 20.7 grains (ca 1150 Fps) Maximum load: 23.0 grains (ca 1275 Fps) Powder: Accurate – 4100®. Bullet weight: 350 grains. Start load: 28.8 grains (ca 1275 Fps) Maximum load: 32.0 grains (ca 1475 Fps) Bullet weight: 400 grains. Start load: 24.8 grains (ca 1150 Fps) Maximum load: 27.5 grains (ca 1375 Fps)
NOTES: It’ important to note that SAFETY is our prime concern therefore we strongly recommend. 1. ALWAYS BEGIN LOADING AT THE RECOMMENDED MINIMUM “START” LOAD and develop loads in 2% increments towards the MAXIMUM load. 2. CAUTION: Beware of double charging if the loading density is below 50% of the available volume. Example: Most Handgun caliber/powder combinations 3. If possible, measure the velocity and correlate with our data.

This is from Mike G. -- moderator at shootersforum. He has performed some of the most extensive load work for the JRH, having one of the first ones.

Here's some new data: Ream the case 0.2", drop 26.0 grs of H110 into it, and top that with a 500 grain hardcast. Goes 1,245 from a 6" barrel and is accurate. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

Thx gents. Lee - when u say ream the case .2, are you suggesting shortening the case length?

I think he means to inside neck ream the case so it will accept the extra length of the 500 grain bullet.
