I have two of the new midframe Flattop Rugers. I like them very much but I find the hammers too narrow and quite sharp. I'm thinking of buying a couple SBH hammers to install in them and am wondering about the ease of installation and fitting. I don't have a problem taking the gun apart and reassembling, but I'm concerned as to the amount of fitting/stoning I may have to do. I would appreciate hearing from those with experience.
TIA, Max.

I bought a SBH hammer from Midway and put it in my Lipsey's 45 Flatop and it was a simple change out with no fitting of any kind.

I put 2 SBH hammers in my 2 NM vaquero's. Required just a bit of fitting to fully engage the sear, but dropped right in basically. I polished both the hammers and the casing and surrounding area as well.
