Stopped by the local swap meet this morning just as one of the sellers was setting up. No one watching but me until he started to set out ammo! snagged two 525 round boxes of Federal .22lr, one 333 round box of Winchester .22lr, and two boxes of Winchester .22 mag. Prices? $23 each for the Federal, $15 for the Winchester .22lr, and $7 each for the .22 mag. The stash is happy!

The Schoolmarm used to think I was nuts because for the past few years, every time I'd set foot in the local Wal-Mart I'd buy two 525-round boxes of Federals. Now she sees the wisdumb of it.

I was at the local gunshow today and the .22 lr ammo I saw for sale was priced at $10.00 per box of 50 or $100.00 per brick. I didn't see any change hands, but there were at least three vendors who had it thusly marked. No one had it priced for less.
Strange Days Indeed!

I know in time the hoarders are going to settle down and inventorys will return but for the life of me I can not figure out the hoarding of 22lr ammo. I mean we all need some one hand to play with but not like it is now. I have perhaps 2 bricks on hand and my boy just turned 9, its time to teach him to shoot a 22 but 2 bricks wont last long. 98% of these guys buying all the ammo up will never shoot any of it, same with primers, pisses me off...

The funny thing is that the only ammo in this neck of the woods that is still missing is .22LR in bulk.
