While perusing this forum, I've noticed many single actions that don't bear the Ruger Eagle. Don't tell the guys over on rugerforum, but I think I may have to invest in one of these "other guns" which brand do ya'll suggest? (I would prefer a .38/.357.)

If you get an early Abilene there is an Eagle medalion there. Or if you prefer no medalion look at a Seville.

if you're looking for a .38 special only,.....i think the ubert stallion would be a great choice due completely to the smaller size.

If you can find them, a Virginia Dragoon is on my list to buy; very well made. Also, if you can find them, Wichita Arms handguns tend to catch my eye.
If you seriously want them, and have the money to buy, let me know, and I'll set it up.

To me the first choice of a non-Ruger is a BFR. Very Ruger like but better and still reasonable.

Uberti and the other importers make some pretty decent single actions in .357. The price is a lot better than some of the others too.
The Virginian Dragoon in .357 weighs a ton. It's a large gun to begin with then with all the extra metal in the .357 barrel and cylinder it really gets heavy.
About some of the others they are WAY out of my budget.

Am I the only one who would suggest a Colt? They are still cataloged in .357 & I think the new 3rd gen. guns are nice. Frank
