The term "Production" puts a kink in the process. Comparing a virtually hand built gun to an actual production built gun isn't really a fair comparison. For me Production Revolver is the sub $1000 S&W L frame until you compare it to a $3000 Korth. The three screw Ruger could be nice but compared to a Freedom Arms revolver? High end 1911s? Hard to beat a sub $2000 Dan Wesson until you compare it to a $4000+ Nighthawk.
Starts to make the old $$ limit rules in the IHMSA early years make sense.

Now the lack of moon clip use rears its ugly head. Personally wish they had worked in a moon clip option. The little spring loaded tabs would definitely hinder the use of a conventional revolver speed loader.

Looks like they overcomplicated what CA made simple. My CA 45 ACP revolver works well but does look fragile. I have current production 9mm S&W Revolvers. Nothing like a nice moon clip for simplicity.

Here is another look at the cylinder. Look hard and you'll see the little springs inside the cylinder body that drive the extractor tabs.
