I’m addicted to nice walnut lumber🥴 Last night I made a deal for some French walnut out of Northern California then today I drop off a end grain cutting boat to be flat sanded and ended up with a beautiful marbled block about 10” square and two 8’x13” x 7/8” gorgeous veregated black walnut planks! Shoot we were driving the wife’s Acura and I STILL couldn’t help myself! I’ll have to pick it up later in the truck.

Poor Contender just cringes inside when he sees some of the projects many of us do!🤣 I admit to being one of the worse offenders of Ruger collector types sensibilities. Type 1 first year flat tops, old model pristine 3 screw shorties, long frame maximums, they have all been sacrificed at the alter of the custom revolver in this house. I always figured that if a collector wanted the same gun I was buying, they should have bought it before I did. Besides, if I use one for a project, it simply increased the value of the other guys collector guns since it is now one gun rarer!
Actually I am not as heartless as I sound. I have let others have a number of collectible Rugers I’ve owned. Ross variation flat top, 256 Hawkeye, NIB fluted bisleys and a few others have gone to purists homes rather than under the knife.

Silcott, I am so sorry for your loss! Like Bula said, the loss of a companion that loves us so unconditionally leaves a hole in our hearts and soul.

Contender is right, aftermarket adjustable sights by Micro. I’ve owned several over the years and might even have one if the rear sights in the parts box.

I am not aware of that one Bula! I’ll try to find it. I looked and only book I see by him is about the day Sasquatch became real to him.

It was Thanksgiving morning of 1982 and my dad and dentist friend and I were hunting Blacktail deer during the last 5 days of the season which were the either sex days, buck or doe. As usual I was in as thick a patch of woods as I could find and I heard a stick crack in between wind gusts and looked up the draw and saw a forked horn buck feeding towards me along with a couple does.
I was carrying my dad’s old S&W in 38 Special with factory soft point loads and when he turned broadside at about 30 yards I squeezed the trigger and it was DRT.
After field dressing him I heard another shot and my dad had used his DW 357 with the 4x scope to take a spike and soon a third shot was heard and we found that Newt had taken a nice doe with his shotgun. Probably one of my most memorable days hunting.
Nowadays my favorite animal to hunt with a handgun is still Blacktail bucks I rattle in during the rut. The gun used is normally a 41 caliber of one size or another. This next year I hope to use a three screw 41 Blackhawk that was Roy Fishpaws’ whitetail hunting revolver!

I’d see if Coronado Leather makes a western style vest that works for you. I have one of their leather jackets that I carry in and it works great.

Geezer, fat finger in tiny boxes, whatever you want to call it, I fit the bill!!!
As far as $3300 for a 22 lr goes, why not? Same high quality has a bigger bite gun but a lot easier on the ears and pocketbook to shoot. I added another Quest gun to the list by Ronnie Wells and it will be a dual cylinder 22lr/22 mag gun.

A seller had two customs by Alan Harton listed in the Custom revolver section on Guns International. A 475 bisley and an 8 shot 22 lr.

Guys, I need to find a used bisley grip frame for a Ruger to add the the grip frame box. I would buy outright or trade for a new Power Custom carbon bisley hammer with the internal parts included. These are the hammer plunger, spring and cross pin. The three internal parts are still in the Midway bags and have not been installed. With Ruger only offering stainless hammers, carbon bisley hammers that can be case colored or blued are getting tough to find so if you have a used bisley grip frame you would swap or sell outright, let me know.
thanks,
Robb

Easy, I’d ask what part of the gun he used it on. I could see maybe using one if you polished a barrel after filing off the warning billboard or maybe on a gripframe that had the finish removed. But, I’ve seen too many guns that have been so buffed on a wheel that the action screw holes look like baby craters and where a frame and gripframe where buffed separately then bolted together and the result is a deep enough trough to break a fingernail.
