Jeeze right hand got snot kicked out of it at the range! First shooting from a Caldwell pistol rest ,the heal of my shooting hand got tore up between the frame and butt rest! Then standing ,the right thumb where it contacts the gripframe up near grip frame screws was a bleeding mess!! Ps Boar carbon solvent removes blood from stainless, micarta and wine wood!

First time I've been on the computer in over a month, still rehabbing from the knee replacement, its going OK, just sloooooow! The PH contacted me & said I have a free Kudu coming & said he would send me a plane ticket when I was ready. That's as good as you can do at this point. I thanked him & now I have to get in shape, I'm down 12 lbs from the last trip. Dick Same thing happened to Reeder, shot a #1 buff with handgun and was sent a different head from the SA taxidermist. Outfitter made good, free hunt with airfare. Ended up shooting an even bigger one! Hopefully you’ll end up with a monster!!

Looking good! Cooling now! If these things take a gas check while sizing, gotta be easiest way to lube a bullet! I’m late to the show but I’m a convert now! Checks went right on , smooth sizing too! Smash test success! Thanks to all!

Apply gc and size before or after? Concerned that if I powder coat before I apply gas checks and size the paint will come off in th process. The gas checks are a tight fit to start. Mold throws at .412 , I size to .410

Could have lobbed that round from 100 yards away. Who knows! Can’t believe that at attacking distance say fifteen yards or closer that that bullet wouldn’t do more damage.

As always I'd suggest you start low and work up. I have no experience with this bullet in .41 but I have the .44 cal Hammer. When working up loads in 44 SPL I hit projected max velocities well before expectations, and actually stopped early due to reaching 1075fps ... Glad I was running the lab radar for the initial test. Based on my test is suspect this particular bullet sits deeper in the case than what I had found for similar weight bullets ... And that might hold for the .41 version. On another note I would love to know how your testing goes, since I have my eye on this mold. Thanks, Freeze Will do! I agree that the crimp groove makes this bullet seat deep. In the process of altering my seating stem. The flat nose stem was cutting a groove around the top of the bullet. I filled the cavity with jb weld so things are at a halt till it cures. Started with 17.0 of 4227. I think ( don’t have the book in front of me) the max is 18.6 .

These 41 hammer meplats are to meplaty for the rcbs seating stem. So do I file the cup flat or fill cup with jb weld?? I chose jb! Never pass up the chance to use jb weld! Lol 4-6 hour cure time or instant use after rigorous use of a file?.
