Wow! 10,000?? that's huge. That number came straight out of John Linebaughs mouth. He has pressure test barrels and has pressure tested different primers. The large rifle primer over ignites the powder effectively increasing the burn rate. I have always used large pistol primers in the 475L abnd 500L. When I spoke with Mr. Linebaugh a couple years back he advised me of the same - AND he recommended the use of WLP primers in both his 500 Linebaugh and 500 Linebaugh Maximum calibers. The only problem I ever experienced with WLP primers was when I used a reduced load of AA1680 - I experienced a couple squibs and that was MY FAULT, as 1680 is like H110 - it should not be use under the minimums recommended by the powder manufacturer. Just noticed - this is an ole thread.
