We have all seen the high quality of Mike DOC Barranti's leather works. A while back he was doing some art work in leather that looked like some old men that we all knew. I did one of Mike himself and had it posted as a copy on my leather work. In talking to Mike about the leather that he had made around a jug of hooch, he said that I should try to copy that as well. I did just that during the last cold spell, (Dec and Jan). I sent him a picture of the finished product a few days ago. I did not have any basket weave or fish scale to put on it. I did put a handle on it to use when he is working on his leather. The handle is long enough to go around his neck so the hooch don't get in his way while working. Now, I don't even try to compare my work with Mike's, but it is serviceable. If he starts sewing some stitches that wobble, we will know that he is using the bottle holder (holster) that I sent to him. I should think that he will want to post a picture of him wearing it so we can all see how it fits. NOTICE: I have had the bottle for over 30 years and the seal is not broken. I just hope that he don't stamp it on the back with his corporate leather stamp and try beating me out of the royalties. Thank you for all you do with leather for us. Keep working. Steve

I don't know what that "Yukon Jack Canadian Liqueur" (Liqueur, mind you) is, but I know that back in the day, Pittsburghers would be much happier with a shot of Imperial and a glass of Iron City. An Imp and an Iron cost 35 cents back in my time. "Liqueur" indeed ... hmph....

That brings back memories.
I spent a couple of years in Germany working for Uncle Sam, West Germany so that tells you how long ago it was.
We would go to the wine fests where they sold a similar rig with a tall shot glass as a "wine tasting" glass.

jaarmarkt is a wine fest in Germany...happens every August in Bad Krueznack. for about 25 buck US one could taste one each of 45 types of wines. I took that as a challenge ...never managed to make it around the circuit...

I took that as a challenge ...never managed to make it around the circuit... I wasn't sure either. I was at Bitburg, near the Mosel river and the wineries along it. Lots of winefests, even base sponsored wine tasting tours (I'll bet they don't do that any more). But I didn't remember a Jarmarkt.
