Cary Chapman cut this set of English walnuts for a 44 Special I recently acquired. As usual I couldn't be happier with how they turned out: If you've never shipped a gripframe his way I recommend doing so. You won't be disappointed. And the gun shot well even though its owner was cold (literally and figuratively.....it was 23 degrees and snowing when I hit the range this morning). I put 200 rounds of my favorite 44 Special load through it and am hooked (6.0 of Green Dot and a 250 grain Keith). One side-note - even with gloves my hands couldn't warm-up. 100 rounds of 500 Maximum is a much different experience at 23 degrees. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

Daggone, those grips were done right. Beautiful photographs, as usual. Congratulations!

Very nice Lee...........Cary know's how to carve out nice grips.
It could be the camera angle...but those grips look a lot like Black/Claro walnut, because of the dark red-ish color. Claro grows in northern CA and southern OR
English/French has more of a blonde- to dark Honey color with Black mineral streaks. I only say this because I live in Walnut country..........It's a hobby of mine, and I'm on a never ending quest to find both ;D

Looks very nice. You finally got our cold weather. We got warmed up last couple of days here. I haven't shot much all winter. Steve

You just can't see it clearly in the pics. Here's a pic of the wood.

I stand corrected, that is without a doubt English. 7+" wide by almost 27" long, that's beautiful piece of wood. The guys up here want a $1000+ for piece that big .........Thanks Cary.
