Came across some old photo's in a seperate file, some of you may have seen them before, if not, enjoy. This one is one of our back country bear hunts, we would either take our own horses or sometimes we would fly in & save 2 days. I think this is a Cessna 206 Sky Wagon, an excellent back country bird. This is my oldest son who is now 44 years old with a very good black bear taken with a Sako 243. I'm sure some of you have seen this one, its located in some of the most primitive country in the lower 48 states and is dedicated to the man's name on the plack, at the base of the rock are dozens of rounds of loaded ammo, left there by those who passed by over the years & honoring the old mountain man. The rifle is my custom 257 Ackley with a very nice piece of maple....should have kept it. Just for kicks I've thrown in a couple of photo's of successful hunts by another son when he was 15 years old. At the time he was the youngest person in Idaho to take a bull moose with a bow. The last photo is Travis the same year with a bull elk he took with my 257 Imp. at about 300 yds as it ran through the quakies following a herd of cows, one of the all time greatest shots I've ever witnessed. My first thought is that those were some lucky lads. I cannot imagine what it would have been like to have had the opportunities to have grown up chasing elk, mule deer, bear, moose and badgers (of course). I'm sure they have a fine appreciation and some wonderful memories. Thanks for sharing.

David, you bet there is. Like us, Dick was also an early IHMSA shooter. He would often make the drive northward from his home in Soda Springs to help Elgin and others put The Silhouette together.
