Well, my ongoing plan of keeping holsters in the works with Barranti has delivered again! This initially was going to be a holster for a 4 5/8” Blackhawk but when Mike called to let me know it was up next on the list, I opted to change it to a basket stamped Hank Sloan signature series for my 3” Lew Horton Model 24. This holster has become one of my favorite belt rigs. It’s a nice match to the 4” version he made me a few years ago. Mike has since redesigned the holster but I requested that this one be built the same as the original in respect to the hammer shroud. His newer design has a slightly enlarged shroud but I wanted the two to be as close to each other as possible. If you look closely to the stamping, you’ll see that even though they were made about 3 years apart, Mike kept the stamping almost identically placed starting at the tension screw working out….he understands his “special” friends and their OCD tendencies He was able to manipulate the holster just enough to accommodate the slimmer barrel profile on the Lew Horton. The fit is amazing! The work is impeccable as usual and I just love this holster design. It makes for a wonderful Winter weather carry rig for me here in Kansas. Thanks again Mike! GS

Those look great Glenn. And the Model 24 isn't too shabby either. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

Those are beautiful, the attention to detail is what makes his work so graceful. As you look it over you catch subtle precision touches that make Doc's work heirloom quality functional art.
He really should start doing it for a living.
Yeah, let's not overlook that purdy "roscoe" either... Nice 44

I pressured Mike to bring out a Hank Sloan design. I gotta say he pulled it off in spades. I have a few of them and really like them for the N frame Smiths. They are so well made, fitted, and ride so nicely you can count on it down on the River! This one is the original prototype model he made for me and my close friend and brother Mike Hutyra beat me out of.

I forgot to mention, since Glenn was showing off his 3" I would whip out my EX 5". Just to get even with ole Glenn, I outta get Mike to build me one for a 3" J frame..... Hmmm....

I have several comments that I will refrain from making about you having to have a 5" and a 3" to be even with me but I'll keep them to myself. Hahaha

Earlier today I was on Mike's web site looking at what else...a Hank Sloan.
Then I see this post.....not making it any easier on me Glen. Those look amazing!!!
A friend and I have a pair of special (to us) Colt SAA's and I am thinking about getting us each one. I have always liked the design.

Dan I have the longhorn companion for a colt SAA and love it. Really neat design and I like the updated look that Mike gave it. Give it a look too but, these HS rigs are super nice!!

Yea I would say Mike outdid himself but I guess he really just matched himself! They say English double shotguns are the worlds finest because when they finish making the best of the best, perfect shotgun they have to make a exact match to it and that is three or four times as hard! Mike did it without the holster in hand and a few years separated.
I have to admit I am tempted to sell my Milt Sparks AW200 and upgrade to one of these...

Oh, and while we are all at it, note that Glenn (who obviously doesnt know any better) gets his holsters with the basket stamp pattern while I prefer the fishscale.
Which do YOU prefer? Please post your preference here...
