I'm loading some 300 hornet loads to fireform to K- hornet. Should I aneal the new brass first ? I put a deposit on a Ruger #1 hornet. Thanks guys

Try 7.5-8.0 grs of H100 45.gr hornady bullet to fire form. I used this load in t/c contender with 0 brass lost. This load shot nice groups at 50yrds.

You'll loose fewer cases if you anneal but it's a pain and if you don't do it right it actually weakens the cases.
I'd try first without it and if the cases aren't splitting I wouldn't.

I've fire-formed a lot of wildcats and rarely anneal. Since all you're doing is straightening the case and improving the shoulder you should be fine. I do recommend annealing for major caliber changes though (ie, necking up or down). -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"
