As many of you know, Dick had back surgery 3 weeks ago. Several of you have called me wondering how he has been. I spoke to him this morning briefly, and while he has gotten a bit of his strength back he still feels very weak. He is getting around a bit, but very slowly and with the use of a walker. He has been dealing with a number of complications from the surgery as well as the medications which are not agreeing with him. To say he has been uncomfortable would be a minor understatement. These post surgery complications have resulted in a trip or two back to the emergency room for Dick.
Nonetheless, for all of you who miss our Meathammer, please keep in mind he tires easily and is at the very best very uncomfortable day to day and progress has been slow. His computer is down in his basement and obviously he has no business going up and down a flight of stairs for now so be patient. He will be back with us soon enough.

Thanks for the report, Fermin. I've put off calling him as I know how those back surgeries can be. (The wife's had 3 and swears NO MORE). Sorry he's having complications, makes a bad deal worse. Still in my prayers.

Thanks for the update, Fermin. I'd thought about calling but I figured that was the last thing he needed. Let him know we're thinking and praying for him.

I too have had phone calls to find out about Dick. His phone is turned off and he has not felt like talking to anyone, me included. HOWEVER, this morning he called and we went to breakfast to get him out of the house for a minute. He said that he wished that he had a recliner and a big heater out to the range so he could sit and shoot. He is doing some better, but it will be a longer recovery time than any of us wanted. We all wish him and Ruth Ann well. Steve

Hello everyone & thanks for your thoughts. It has been one rough son of a gun, one day its my back, then my legs, I have almost no feeling in my right foot, I've been light headed & can't get my bowels working right. Can't find anyplace to sleep more than an hour at a time. But in spite of all that it seems to be getting a bit better, I made it downstairs today, going backwards & holding on. I haven't had my phone on or the computer, I just get too tired. But I do have a few stories & some really neat photo's coming up from my son's deer hunt. 3 of our son's & one grandson took really nice deer, I think you'll be impressed.
