I was looking at craigslist the other night and saw a listing for a 29-2. The ad was only an hour or so old, so I typed off an email and sent it to the poster with my offer. He wanted $500.00 o.b.o., so I offered him $50.00 less than that. I really didn't think he would go for it because I know I wouldn't, but then again I wouldn't be offering a Smith & Wesson 44 Magnum for his price either.
To my surprise and delight he responded with "Deal." about 45 minutes later and included his phone number. We met up and I gave him some soon to be over-inflated dollars and took possession of a fine American made firearm that was made in about 1975. It's the P&R,TH, TT, WO and red insert version of this model. I think the price I paid is what this gun would have sold for back in the early to mid-90s. It has the factory stocks but they feel pretty good in my hand, so for now they're going to stay. I haven't shot it yet, but I hope to soon.

This is the camera phone pic from the ad. I haven't taken any other pictures of it. I think the cylinder is open here. There's some wear on the side of the barrel and the cylinder flutes, but it's a good looking sixgun.

Ray, you have more cajones than I; it sounds like an easy set-up.

Set up...yep, but I imagine Ray has the means with which to take care of himself:-) I did several face to face gun deals when I lived up there...always on high alert and always there a bit early to scope things out.

Set up? You guys just need to trust your fellow man more, and like Rob said have the means to take care of yourself along with you. There's never been a problem.
