The original work included a 5" octagon and I had a pair of those. So, I wanted something different this time. I had split the forcing cone on the octagon barrel. So I had John put a 5 1/2" tube on it with a full length erh. We added the #5 base pin and the lanyard ring. It has a Bowen rear sight and a custom front sight by John that he put a white stripe on. For what ever reason I get a little more shooting time with a white outlined rear sight and a white stripe front. But that's just my experience and personal preference. This baby is now my primary hunting piece. My other 5" octagon is the back up. I'm gonna try to tune up on the Arkansas deer before heading to Kansas at the end of November. I'm gonna use a 315KLBT that I cast and put it over a little H-110 and drive it at 1100 fps. I think this will kill the fire out of a deer! I know it has in the past!! Two years ago I killed the biggest whitetail with a pistol ever taken by this outfitter. Well, it was also the first handgun hunter they had ever guided as well! LOL! Wish me luck!

Nice. That must be a re-chambered 44 cylinder? I hear Gallaghers SA actions/triggers are smooooth.

Awesome weapon! I'm waiting now on a Bisley 44 Mag he's customizing for me...can't wait to run a couple hundred rounds through it. I've heard great things about his work, and spent an hour or so this summer at his shop chatting with him. If his work is as good as he is, my wait will be worth it!

It sounds like Mr. Gallagher is getting quite a bit of work from guys at this forum. I'm waiting in line just like you jworrell. In a few months we'll have to start a new "Gallagher Pic" thread!

Johns actions are always perfectly timed and as smooth as butter. For those of you waiting, you will not be dissapointed.
