Rob, you seemed a bit surprised at my posting that a fellow poster should consider your fine wares for his new custom sixgun. It may seem that Mike Barranti going full time is the big news and indeed it is. Certainly we all wish him the very best and no one Im quite sure wish him all good speed but those who are on his backlog.
These facts however in no way take away from the great service, unmatched delivery time, and wonderful custom leather products you have provided many a sixgunner for so long. You are a ROCK in the industry and no one has forgotten it. You are always there for your friends and customers and your business model and ethics have no peer. More than all of that, your generosity is only matched by the size of your heart.
No surprises here to those of us who keep an eye on such things. So from me, Thank You for all the times you have sided me on whatever project we have collaborated on. Thank you for always thinking of others, including my son Jake and the other Soldiers and Marines you have honored. And if you are reading this and do not own leather from Rob, know that you are missing out on all the best that Simply Rugged has to offer.

+1. I've only got 4 of his holsters. True story. I contacted Rob about making a sheath for a knife and extending the flab tab on a Cuda I bought for my Hi-Power as carrying cocked and locked the hammer was digging into my side. He said sure. I sent him the knife and the holster. I won't say what the cost was but it was more than reasonable. About 3 weeks later a Simply Rugged package arrived. When I opened it, there inside, was my knife with a sheath, my old holster and a brand new holster!! My assumption was that he was just going to add a small piece of leather to lengthen the flab tab on my existing holster but noooo. He made a brand new one for me. I have two Cudas, a Silver Dollar for my Bulldog and a pancake for my N-Frame Smiths. Great gear from a great man! Thanks Rob and long live Simply Rugged!! I'd also like to add that Rob helped me get started into reloading. When I first joined the forum I asked a few questions about equipment. The next day I had an e-mail from Rob telling me he had an old Rock Chucker Jr. In his shop. He told me if I wanted it he'd send it to me. Not having any equipment I said yes. A few days later the press arrived with a Lee hand priming tool. Someday I'd like to shake his hand and see in person a man who treats a stranger like his friend.

You know Fermin, when your right, your right. I am proud to call Robb a friend and I am honored to use his holsters and look forwards to getting a few more. You sure won't meet a man with a bigger heart.

Fermin nailed that one. Two have two such talented and big hearted people on the same wave length as most of us truly great. One of clearest examples of Rob's nature is in his resounding encouragement for Mike as Mike steps out into full time leather artistry.
Robb, he who wears leather from both these guys.

Amen to what Fermin stated. I have holsters from others, including Mike, but the majority of my 'using' holsters come from Robb.

I just talked with Rob earlier this week to make sure I had permission to post some pics of some of his holsters he has made for me. I'm planning to get out and snap a few pics this weekend so they will be up soon . Super nice guy and does a lot for our soldiers. I always enjoy my visits with Rob and his better half. Glad they live closer now than AK as I usually get to see them and spend time a couple times a year. The first time I met Rob in person, it was like I had known him forever, super nice guy with a contagious laugh! I think Mrs Jan still tries to figure out what's wrong with me though heck even my coworkers have Simply Rugged rigs! If you don't have one, as Fermin said, you're missing out! I have one in the works there now that I've asked Rob to scratch his head on. I look forward to seeing what he dreams up on that one . One thing I know for sure. Simply Rugged is one of the few makers in the country I've found that will work with exotic materials like shark, crocodile, etc that a mere mortal can afford. How he does it, I don't know but I have several that are either full coverage exotic or a hybrid that I love. One of my absolute favorite field holsters is from Rob in the cattleman persuasion and is built to carry a 6 7/8" Ruger MK2. That gun disappears and you forget you're packing it at all. I love it. Sort of a hybrid constructed of croc hide and leather with basket weave stamping. I told Rob to surprise me and that's what he sent. Couldn't have been happier and now that gun finally gets used a lot more. Thanks again Rob for always catering to my oddball request

Thanks you Fermin, "Mike Barranti going full time is the big news and indeed it is. Certainly we all wish him the very best!" You bet, I am genuinely thrilled for Mike. If he has half the fun I have , he'll have a great life. Working in this industry has been the best part of my life, so far. The quality of folks I get to associate with is just outstanding. Thank you all for the 9 years of business. Rob

As usual, Fermin is dead on. I have holsters from makers all over this country. Some from big names, some from small makers, and a few from guys that do it for fun, and do it quite well. I look forward to receiving 2 Barranti holsters soon, BUT, deer season is opening soon, and I assembled my go to rigs this past weekend. So far, all but 2 are Simply Rugged holsters. They work, and the shoulder harness is genius. Its a very handy rig for tree stand hunting. Robb makes one of the nicest Threeperson style holsters out there as well. Definitely not 2nd rate stuff!!

mr Twodogs is right on the money. elsewhere i mentioned that i was wanting to get a chesty puller rig with the adapter to use belt holsters as chest holsters but could not find it on the sight. Rob said send me an email and i will GIVE you the new style adapter with the purchase of a chesty puller harness. when i placed my order, i sent Rob an email and not quite a week later, i was fondling some fresh wonderful smelling simply rugged leather. the holsters cary everything from my Seville to my flattop blackhawk wonderfully and the chesty puller should be about the perfect cary set up for tree stand handgun hunting.

I have holsters from both makers and wouldn't have it any other way. Both great guys and both make great leather.
