Friday? Shooting here. Pulled out the old model 10. Had this gun built for NRA Action in 1987. Bought a model 19 for the project. Gunsmith, the original Joe Chambers, told me to trade it for a 38. Traded the 19 for a model 10. DOA with a Douglas bull and a 2x Burris (Gil Hebard) scope. Started with a round barrel and no trigger stop. Local gunsmith installed a hard trigger stop and milled the slant when he slabbed the barrel. Lots of memories go with the gun. Remember riding back to the hotel at Bianchi in '92 and marveling that because of the fluid retention from cancer surgery I could not see the knuckles of my hand... ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) ![](https://i.imgur.com/FMM306b.jpg)

My wife is in Fla for 2nd week now, seeing to last care of her Mom. In 30+ years we've not been apart so long. I went from having a Mom to having a wife, a seamless transition ! Now, for the first time, had to run a washing machine.. It made this ominous click, lid locked.. We have crossed the Rubicon. Dog and me outside burning leaves where it is safe. In my defense, my wife has no idea how to run all that stuff in the garage and never has. A division of labor carved in stone. Has worked well until now.

Since I retired, been doing laundry(yuck), dishes(yuck, yuck)dusting, and vaccuming. The vacuum is high tech with gadgets and options, actually fun. My wife got me with experience. As a kid growing, I was responsible for all that plus more. We've been together over 40 years and she doesn't mow, that's okay she'd not do it my way.

The "dovetail filler" is a finger stop. Once upon a time the NRA Action shooters grabbed the barrel and held it on the barricade. 38 Special is a good finger remover if you place one accross the muzzle!

Scope was built expressly for bullseye shooting. There are very fine crosshairs and a very large dot. The dot is sized such that, everything perfect, if you keep the dot inside the 50 yard 8 inch bullseye (containing the 8,9,10 and X rings) all shots will be 10s and xs. Burris made 1X and 2X version of this scope.

I’m not a big fan of touching a revolver in front of the cylinder, after having been burned by the barrel / cylinder gap on a couple

Barricade match is pretty much an X count match. Got to make the decision to participate or compete. So what if it burns all the hair off your forearms. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

We do the same thing in archery, and the lower power scope/large dot shows less movement and allows us to pay more attention on form and execution.

The big dot eliminates the urge to hold perfect...

I like that PC. A slightly smaller M69 holstered at the moment.
