This one is more of a working gun than a beauty queen. They fit and reshaped a Super Blackhawk Dragoon grip frame I had in my parts bin, made the grips and re-blued the entire gun. It took less than 2 months. I stopped at the range on the way home, I am thrilled with the way it shoots and feels!! Sorry guys, but I couldn't take pics of any of your guns. Jack just got back from vacation and all the guns were still boxed up and put away. I did see a Redhawk that he's building in 500 JRH. The amount of skill and talent that goes into building one of those is nothing short of amazing!!

I've got more sixgunes than you can shake a stick at. The OM 41's are my prized units...dang are they hard to find though. You just never see one for sale...ever.

Steve
I think a "working gun" can also be a beauty queen, and that one qualifies. It is danged near perfect! Thanks for sharing.

Looks pretty nice for a "working gun". The .41 magbum is such a fun cartridge to shoot. I've always wanted one, but .357's and Super Blackhawks are much easier to find at gun shows. I found an unfired/boxed .41 magnum once , but the guy wanted $950 and would not budge. So I just went the conversion cylinder route on my Old Army. it has that "in between" power and kick, and was considerably less than the $950. Plus the Old Army was my Dad's, which adds the family tradition angle to my shooting fun.

Steve, that's really nice, I love the grain in that wood! Very nice revolver, a classic piece of working' iron if I ever saw one. Congratulations!

steve,
Very nice! Did Jack do the grip extension (like Lee showed on his .475 BFR), along with rounding the trigger guard?
dougader,
agrizz is just razzing bud.

Agrizz can razz me all he wants...he's just jealous of all my 41's. Just within the last year a fellow had a 41 NM Blackhawk 4 5/8..only wanted 2 bills. Not a month later another fellow offered a NM BH 6 1/2 for 150...how do you pass those up ?? Not sure why anyone tried to sell a 41 of any kind (except for a FA) for $950.

Nels is just taking up the slack for me when he is razzing you Bud. I think he is doing a good job. I may have to buy him a cold beer and a big steak after me and him get done shooting up a bunch of your ammo....

Hey Steve,
Is that a matt blue or just the photos?
I too want to know from somebody if that grip- frame is typical of one of Jack's extended gripframe. Whit? Lee? Anybody?

It's a standard blue, the first picture on page 1 looked like a matte finish. That was just gun powder residue. I had just got back from the range, and hadn't cleaned it yet. Aside from the trigger guard being rounded it has been reshaped to give more room behind the trigger guard so it doesn't bash your middle knuckle. Also an extension has been welded onto the bottom of the gripframe. I love this modification, It feels better than a Bisley to me. Here's one more Pic, the little white specks on the ERH is just lint from the carrying case.
