Did a little browsing today and was struck! Bought a used Uberti Cattleman Flat Top Target, .45 Colt. This gun has a 4 3/4" barrel and is sort of like the Colt Flat Top. This gun has the case hardened black powder frame, and the wide trigger, which I like Price was $399 which seemed fair to me.
Haven't had time for photos yet, be assured they will be made! Already sent order to Brownell's for crescent head ejector rod (it has the button head) and an extra base pin screw, just in case.
Lookin' forward to a range session!

Bob, that is beautiful, Thanks for sharing. That flattop looks nice. I like the front sight too, it can be replaced if you want or need to. That would make elevation adjustments a snap. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like a range report when you can. If you are worried about the basepin screw working out, I've had it happen. I cured it by taking the basepin screw out & putting two wraps of plumbers teflon tape on the threads & screwing it back in. It hasn't moves since unless I wanted it to. I've done that on hammer screws too. It's an easy fix & for me has worked well. Frank
PS: I like the Uberti made guns, I think they are pretty nice. FV

Nice! I didn't even know they made the flat-top in anything but a 7½". I would've bought one from DGW back when they were $345 if they had one in that length. Wish they made them in .38-40.
Personally, I greatly prefer the bullseye ejector you have over the crescent.

Great find Bob...and an even better price. Those target Ubertis are hard to come by. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"
