This is my latest – and probably last for a while – SAA from Doug Turnbull’s shop. They have made two previous guns for me with the lightweight cuts on the frame and recoil shield that I previously posted... and when I asked about another revolver, I found that there were only two BP frames left in the shop. I snapped this up, and Todd has told me that they don’t know when there will be more. I like shorter barrels, as evidenced by my two 4” guns, but my state requires a minimum length of 5” for hunting, so I asked for that length, but with a full length ejector rod. I just like that look, and my only disappointment was that they could not match the ejector housing to the barrel, but they did surprise me with an interesting front sight. Not sure what model variation this came off of, but the gold bead just sits in the grove on top of the frame, offering a quick and easily seen sight picture. Along with beautiful once piece walnut grips, Turnbull’s legendary Bone Charcoal Color Case Hardening and Carbona Blue, and a custom (to fit the barrel) El Paso Saddlery Tom Threepersons holster, it’s a package that will hit the range this weekend.

Love them!
I imagine the issues at USFA are hitting Turnbull on his single actions, since he gets his parts from USFA, doesn't he?

Correct - Turnbull builds from USFA components, so until the supply catches up to the demand, things are going to be very tight.

Even though I am a rabid bisley grip frame fan, those two works of art are just too beautiful for words! Damn, I like those! Especially that one on top!

Those are simply lovely. I want some of that beauty from Turnbull.
Now might be a good time for me to send him my USFA Omnipotent for a bit of CCH. Though, I doubt seriously if he's sitting idly with thumbs twirling.

Super nice! I would love to send him my Vaquero Birdshead for CCH and Carbona blueing! I suppose I'd have to have an action job as well......and a Bisley hammer.... and............
