Recently recieved 1k pieces of 414 brass from Starline. Just checked their website and they are already sold out. "Status: BackOrdered - Available: 07/01/2013" That didn't take long!

The real question is what kind of 414 do you have to shoot it in? ;D

Unfortunately none at the moment so the brass should last quite awhile. I did send a Ruger maximum to John Gallagher to be rechambered and fitted with a 7.5" octagon barrel and stainless bisley grip so now all I can do is wait.

If John is making it, you won't be disappointed!

Axe, Here's what John had to say re: octagon barrels ;
"I do not have any octagon 41 barrels on hand at this time but I hope to run some 41,44, and 45 barrels in the next few months. I will have to run the 7 1/2" separately as we usually run 5 1/2" barrels and they are all done on a CNC. It is not a problem, I have the program for the 71/2". I need to run about 20 barrels to offset the set up costs. I need to get some barrel stock in here in order to do it."

Sounds like we need to get the 41 phreaks fired up and asking John for octagon 41 barrels.. Let's see... If I ask for 2 or 3, you ask for 2 or 3, then get the same out of Aggie01, Kings6, Lee,... That's 15 right there. The closet 41 phreaks will push us over 20 barrels in no time!

Glad I bought 1,000 pieces. Doesn't surprise me that it sold out fast. When I was trying to swing a bulk order there was interest in 11,000 pieces from this forum alone. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

I just buy 1.0" barrel blank and rough the flats on a Brown & Sharpe horizontal mill. Then were final finish them on a surface grinder. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

I can't talk to the pure cost, but it does take time to mill and final finish the flats. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"
