I bought some Nill grips last night. If it doesn't rain I'm going out in a few to try it again!

Had a much better day yesterday shooting at 25yds off a sandbag. 385gn Montana Bullets over 12gns of Unique for around 975. I'll have to check the speed.

That looks to me to be about the perfect DA .50 and the perfect load for it. 385 grain bullets right at 1000 fps is enough punch for anything. And the accuracy is fine as well. You have hit the proverbial sweet spot with that one!

Sweet custom!
Are you using gas checked bullets? I had a 454 Ruger SRH at one time that was ported. Plain base bullets spit lead all over the sides and top of the muzzle end of the gun and messed up the front sight base. Trouble went away when I started using cast bullets with the gas checks.

that is about the neatest idea I've seen in a long time and those grips on a blued gun just look right. Besides unique I know someone earlier suggested trail boss . Have you given that any thought?

The Redhawk is the most aggressive gun I have in terms of recoil related issues. I tore a hole in my hand once shooting about 100 rounds of 350 gr at 1150-1250 fps. That top part of the grip frame just dug in every time. I have video of it somewhere.
