I've owned this gun since 2002 but finally got around to taking pictures of it. It's a first year (1956) 44 flattop that came out of a local collection. The former owner was a long-time friend of Bill Ruger's and had dozens of unfired guns. This was one of them and it even came with the box. The note inside simply said "unfired, factory stag". Three Ruger collectors have looked at the backside of the grips and the consensus is they're factory. As you can guess, it'll stay unfired. -Lee www,singleactions.com "Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

Holy moly, that's a gem right there. I take it you have no intentions of firing it either?

Nope. I've never even turned it. Just removed the cylinder to oil it. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

Beautiful! I envy you guys who can afford to hoard unfired collector guns. While I no longer have shot everything I own, I don't own anything that is not considered a shooter...

That's a beauty for sure--looks like a three digit, cannot really tell from the picture, regardless, love the stags. Great investment piece for sure.

I've got a few unfired guns myself. Some days the voice in my head asking "why own it if you're not gonna shoot it" gets me tempted, but I still haven't done it. With one exception, I have identical twins to these guns that frequently see range trips, so it's no big deal if I don't shoot the unfired ones.
Thanks for showing it off Lee, that's pretty neat.
