...new to me... just installed an 18 lb hammer spring, reduced power trigger spring, power base pin latch spring, reamed cylinder throats, cleaned her up really good and lock tighter all the screws... gonna shoot her this weekend with the new (to me) 475 Linebaugh... This Bisley Vaquero 45 Colt is going to eventually turn into a custom 5 shot with a 4 inch barrel and a FA style brass bead front sight... sometime in the not too distant future, likely will go to Reeder for the conversion.... these stags are too fat and need to get thinned out a bit, which will reduce the bark level a bit. Will do it CCH frame and loading gate again but will also have the hammer done as well. Will likely do a charcoal blue on barrel and grip frame... Turnbull will do the refinishing. photobucket.com/BisleyVaquero45Colt

This isn't a NM Vaquero, is it? Looks like a large frame Vaquero.
Will the smiths do a 5-shot conversion on the mid-frame NM Vaquero? I didn't think they would.

It's a large frame. I don't go for the New Vaquero's only because I don't shoot CAS and I like the option of shooting "Ruger only loads" in anything with a Bisley grip frame. I will admit I would one day love to own a little SS 45 Colt New Vaquero with a 3 1/2" barrel and a birds head grip frame with some ivory grip panels... one day. Kind of like a little pocket pistol with a big hole.

It looks like a Vaquero to me too. The stocks are beautiful. Thanks for sharing. A little reminder, be careful with those "Ruger Only" .45 Colt loads. Especially if you have a Colt or Colt clone in your group. Frank

I'm the type that does that exact sort of thing, so thanks for thinking about me... ...and its why I don't own any 45 Colt revolvers that aren't original large frame Bisley Vaqueros or 5 shot 45 Colt conversion Bisley Blackhawks. Ive got three other large Vaqueros in 45 Colt that have the XR3 Red grip fame and fluted cylinders that only see cowboy loads, even though they could shoot Ruger only loads... I know the logic seems fuzzy but it works for me. I differentiate btwn fluted and unfluted in my 45 Colts, I know that if it's unfluted I can shoot Ruger only loads, if its fluted it gets mild cowboy stuff only... not an exact science but it helps me keep it clear in my feeble soft mind... with an extra measure of safety... If I ever bought a New Vaquero or Colt, I'd probably end up blowing it up...

I have one of those bisqueros on the heavy frame I left the sights alone and with a 340gr bullet out around 950 out of the 4.5+- inch barrel it is scary accurate. I have had 3 offers on it so far. I keep thinking I should sell but can't seem to let go
