I played around with it last night and I think it's pretty unlikely that its going to come out, it's pretty darned tight, John obviously fit it as it's oversized to begin with. In other words the base pins from any other factory Ruger SA are loose and sloppy in the base pin hole and cylinder... and the pin from this Linebaugh won't go into the other as-factory guns... in other words it's tight (oversized), and the cross bolt locks up good. With the new power base pin spring I put in it I think Im good to go. I will be calling John today if only to have a set screw to put in that unsightly hole int he base pin... After completely disassembling the gun last night I did find a nice divot developing in the back of the transfer bar where it engages the back of the firing pin assy... For some reason this gun has a heavy main spring in it (feels stock anyway) and the transfer bar does not totally cover the back of the firing pin when the hammer falls. Long and the short of it is that I'll be sending it back to John after all of some necessary repairs... or i might just buy a new transfer bar, polish it up and install it to see if it improves the situation.... after I shoot it tomorrow morning of course.

I hear ya! Wish I could shoot every weekend, but a wife and two teenagers... well, you know.... The whole family is going with me on Saturday now, so it actually worked out better this way... the wife and kids will get some range time in. They all want to shoot the 475 just as much as me!
