last week a customer brought in her 2012 Focus for a rattle in the headliner. About 4 inches behind the windshield there was a hole in the roof and a .401 FMJTC bullet rolling around in a brace between the roof and headliner. The sheet metal on car bodies today is called "high tensile",its thinner and lighter but stronger. My point to this is that this bullet fell into the car,it wasnt fired into it. It apparently happened when the car was parked and unoccupied. But if it would have it 1/2 either direction front or back it would have entered the passenger compartment,it also would have went thru the windshield or the sunroof. Doesnt take much to realise what would have happened to a person walking down the sidewalk. I posted this because this isnt some I heard a friend of a friend,I saw it firsthand. Whatever goes up must come down. I have pics but am tired of screwing with photobucket.

Don't need no pictures to picture that in my mind! That's one heck of "something to think about"!

I have a friend who installs solar panels on homes. He tells me he regularly finds "spent" bullets embedded in roofs when he is up there installing panels.
Before I retired, we would usually find a bridge to park our patrol cars under on new year unless we had a hot call. Fall out!
It is dangerous! Frank

I believe your story but, no one noticed a hole in the cars roof? As I recall the Focus's roof is not above eye level.

I agree but spend 20 years in a garage and not much will suprise a person anymore.

Imagine what happens after an Afghan wedding!! Found some scary spent bullets in my aircraft while a crew chief in Iraq..... sometimes they find their way around the armor floor-plating!

In every Southwestern city the 4th, May 5th and new years are good nights to stay indoors. South Phoenix sounds like the tet offensives is being re-enacted...
