That's cool. I've always wanted to finder a shooter model one of these too. I love .22's, especially older ones or older models. Good catch, have fun with it.

Very slick little piece. My first .22 was a Stevens. Same gun as yours except it was the base model. I still have it and should probably take it to the range. It'll definitely bring back memories. Enjoy. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

The Crack Shot was made in a variety of calibers. My uncles used them for butchering more than anything else. I remember a .32 rimfire and a .22 long rimfire that were used. The .22 was used the most due to the fact that the .32 rimfire would sometimes not penetrate to the kill area in a head. The .22 long had better penetration.

My father in law used to collect and display his Steven's Favorites boys rifles. I bet he would have loved to own one of these rifles.

I've always been drawn to simplicity and clean lines of single shots. I can't think of a better companion rifle to tote with a single six... light, handy, simple and accurate. (Now if I can talk someone into converting it to takedown and adding a 22 mag barrel....)

Nice find. My first 22 was a crack shot. I still have it. Full octogon barrel and all. The interesting thing is my cousing has the consecutive serial numbered crack shot after this one. I haven't had it out other than to look at in years.

Mark, the best thing on it are the sights: no rear sight at all except the old eye friendly folding peep! Took a little elbow grease, but the buttplate cleaned up pretty good. Like I said, if I can make it a takedown and add a 22 mag barrel.... once I laid hands on it I couldn't put it down.

Hoss That is nice, congratulations. I've always thought the Crackshot was a nice little rifle. Thanks for sharing. Frank
