I took my Ruger SBH 10.5 out this last weekend. It shot great and accurate too, but after about 20 rounds down range, I noticed hat the cylinder did not spin as freely as it did before shooting. I broke down the gun and checked for anything that could be gumming it up and couldnt ind anything. When I the cylinder back in, the cylinder spun very smooth and freely. I shot another 25 rounds nd it started to feel slow again.
I know I may just need to clean an oil it well, but has anyone else experienced anything like this or have any watch outs I should be aware of?

What kind of ammo are you shooting through it? Factory? Handloads?

I've experienced the same thing with a very tight slick 500L. It has been a few years and I don't remember the powder or bullet lube. A drop of oil on the front of the cylinder at the base pin cured my problem.

Are your primers flowing back into the firing pin hole in the recoil shield??

I have that problem with my BFR,it blows bullet lube against the frame and gums up the pin.

The 4227 loads I shot in my Maximum (100 rounds) gummed it up pretty badly. The 1680 doesn't do that.

Your base pin might be backing slightly out during firing. Check to make sure it's seated and the cross pin is fully engaged.

I was using 44 special handloads with lead cast bullets. And 44 magnum factory loads. Shooting 5 of each at a time to practice not flinching.
The primers were all well struck and did not show any signs of excess pressure. Also, the spent cases ejected easily without sticking. It was strictly the cylinder that felt slightly gummed up. I will check the base pin to make sure it's seated correctly
