Got a chance to chronograph the 525 WFN in both the Linebaugh and 500 Maximum. The 500 Linebaugh was feed 26.0 grains of H110 and averaged 1,080 fps from a 5" SRH. I consider 26.0 to be max, but that said there were no signs of excessive pressure. Cases extracted with ease too. Play is safe though and start low. I suggest 24.0 and work up in half-grain increments. I was also pleased with accuracy. Bench-rested at 50 yards I could hold around 4" (5-shots). These are my two best groups: Now the 500 Maximum really shined. I didn't have much ammo, but put five over the screens. As always, my load was 38.0 of AA1680. Velocities were as follows in this exact order: 1,327 1,324 1,327 1,330 1,326 I couldn't believe the spread, or lack there of. I've never had 5 rounds from a revolver fall within 6 fps. Points to why this load has been so accurate. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

That is one awesome load, Lee! I had a chance to test it on a live target this past weekend and it not only shoot accurately, it strikes with absolute, unequivocal authority.
What did the 26 grain Linebaugh load do over the screens?

That is exactly what I expected of that .500 Linebaugh load. Excellent. Here is a preview. While not the biggest piece of porcine flesh, she was the biggest one I encountered on Friday evening (actually early Saturday morning).

What'd the 500 Max look like at night? I have to assume a big fireball.....38.0 grains of anything down a 6" barrel is pushing it. Did you shoot the other 19 I loaded and if so, any problem with crimp pull? -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

Didn't notice the fireball or recoil -- never do when I have an animal in my sights! It did ring my ears a bit!

Haha, one would figure that 38 grains of powder would BLIND you whilst shooting at night!! It really didn't???
