Well folks these darn Rugers multiply! I just finished my first year of grad school and pulled 4 A's and 1 B this semester. Figured I earned this I recently picked up a Single Six Hunter and Leupold 4x Handgun Scope. Figured I'd post a pic of the gun and a couple targets I shot today. Targets are 3 inch discs shot at 100 yards. What sort of accuracy should I expect at 100 yards? Cheers, Scott

I have shot a few .22 rifles that wouldn't do that at 100yds, so I'd be happy with that if I were you.
But that doesn't mean you won't find a type of ammo that does even better.
Neat gun!
Was the group with mags or LR?
I see a box of Blaser .22s there. Those were #2 best in my .22 Bisley. Eley High Velocity was the winner by a slight margin.

That is excellent accuracy. You might also try WW 37 gr. hollowpoints, but it will be hard to beat the 2" groups you've shown.

Thanks guys I've shot Blazer, Eley Sport, Aguilla Pistol, Federal Match and CCI Standard Velocity. The CCI has shot the best so far. I think I'm going to try Mini-Mags and mess with the WMR ammo some too. Learning to shoot a scoped hangun is going to be fun! Scott

I have had really great accuracy in my MKII with the cheap bulk Remington Golden Bullets from Wal-Mart, but I get a dud almost every mag. Cheap bulk Federals jam about every 2 mags and I only got 3 duds out of an entire bulk box, but aren't as accurate as the Remingtons. I have not tried the Winchesters, but am hopeful that Winchester's new "state of the art" rimfire factory in Mississippi can make ammo that works and is accurate.

Very nice work. And congrats on getting through the first year. I know how challenging post-grad can be but trust me, it's worth it. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

Nice reward! Congrats. I got the best results from Wolf Match in my Ruger Target rifle and the AMT 8 3/8" bull barreled Lightning I have. Remington sub-sonic hollow points are pretty good and a lot cheaper. If there's any wind at all it will open up groups real quick.

Thanks again guys Going back to school was a good choice. I'm certain I'll be better for it. I shoot here; www.dprc.org I've been a member for almost 9 years. I was hoping to make it to the Linebaugh event in eastern NC this year. Wasn't able to. Any other single action type events on the east coast this year? Scott
