I found a Ruger 32-20 at the local shop and was wondering what your thoughts and experiences are with it.

I presume you're referring to the limited run Buckeye. That being the case, it's a fine, if a bit heavy revolver. I have one and like it very well. The Buckeye also came with an interchangeable cylinder for .32 H&R Magnum.

I forgot to mention, I do have a 32 Mag single -six which was massaged by Bowen so it's not like I need it. Of course need is relative! If it's just different, not better, I may pass on it.

Probably not very relevant in this context because my 32-20s are older Smiths. A great sense of accomplishment when they shoot well but I have never felt comfortable with pushing any kind of pressure levels . That's what the Ruger is for but the other 32s (32mag ,327)seem to do it more easily. That said ,if I ran into one I would try to acquire it cuz I like a big pile of 32s and I'm a hoarder . I already have dies, brass and bullets and that makes it easy. I will probably never have to make this decision as they are never seen around here.

I have a Buckeye as well as a Bowen conversion of an OMBH. As said, the Buckeye is heavy although a good shooter. I much prefer the Bowen...

The 32-20 in a Buckeye is in a whole different power class. I am having Miha make a mold for a 135 HP for the 327/32-20 class cartriges. My buckeye drove out the 133 LBT at 1500+ and fine accuracy.

Ruger made a special run of the Old Vaquaro in 32-20. I had one for awhile. Heavy is the word for it. I traded it for a New Vaquaro in 45 Colt.

I've got a Buckeye and it really is a performer in 32-20. I never used the 32 Mag cylinder. You can't go wrong with the Buckeye.

Those guys go crazy for them. Seems they only made a few. Personally, I won't miss it. www.rugerforum.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=149192
