I just hit the BUYNOW button on a used Ruger .32 H&R Single Six. Never been a big fan of the caliber but my dad always raved about it and I may have some of his stuff from his last one. This one has the standard wood grips where many seen have the faux ivory but I got this one for about half what those seem to demand. Looks like a mini Vaquero, (fixed sights and case colored) should be a neat little packing/plinking gun! I assume some of the members have one of these lurking around the safe?!

The only Ruger 32 I had was a bisley and it grew into a 327 Mag. Still I enjoy the cartridge enough I bought a 32 Mag/327 Mag dual cylinder FA last fall.

I have had several of these and am down to one - an adjustable sighted, 6.5" Bisley. They are dynamite little field guns. All of mine have been quite accurate. Sixshot over on the Ruger Forum has a number of "articles" about his field experience with the .32 Mag in a Single Six. His gun has taken a number of varmints.
I think you'll like it.

Groo here Can a 32hr mag become a 327 in a super six by recutting the chambers? ? If you roll your own ammo, you really don't need to. Factory 32 H&R ammo is dumbed-down for the weaker H&R revolvers.

I would be interested in some loading info for this specific revolver, favorite loads from the members? Is there any of the usual manuals that give good data for the Ruger as opposed to the H&R gun? I would ask my dad but he is in the old folks home with Alzheimers and doesnt talk anymore. Thanks!

I've loaded my SS 32's up to the loads listed by Brian Pearce in Handloader magazine, but they still don't quite have as much zip as the 327 Federal.
11.6 grains W296 under a Hornady 100 grain xtp is pretty zippy, though. Brian lists 11.8 grains as max.

All you guys need to investigate heavier than 100 grain bullets in your RUGER 32s. They will pretty much take the same powder charges with a bunch more WHAP on the other end. Still, each one is different so be careful. A 32 is the most fun a man can have with his clothes still on. I now use a 32 everywhere I used to use a 22 for killing.

Couldn't agree more. Mine get the 115 gr FP from Hunters Supply over 10 or 11 grs (IIRC) of Lil'Gun.
